In addition to Jesus knowing us in and out written about last week in this column, is the fact that Jesus is also most powerful and always present with us everywhere and anywhere and whatever the circumstances.
After living an authentic holy life of sinlessness representing the invisible God here on earth in spite of being tempted in every way, and went to the cross to die for our sin and rose the third day to become our living Savior and Lord, He said of Himself to His disciples,
“All power and authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth, Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the age”(Matthew 28:19-20).
This is what the bible scholars call the Golden Commission of spreading the Gospel by the power and in the name of Jesus Christ with His powerful presence with us wherever we are and whoever we maybe. Hence, Jesus is the only One who is all powerful and present with us anywhere to redeem and save us humanity from the power of sin that separates us from the loving embrace of God the Father.
Apostle Paul was inspired to declare, “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved”. (Acts 4:12).
Jesus Himself said, “I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father God, except through Me” (John 14:6). The mystery of Jesus is that He is co-equal with God the Father who had been from the beginning of creation authenticated about His deity in John 1:1-5 thus,
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him, nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it”. That’s the powerful Jesus who was incarnated, becoming man to show humanity what God in heaven was like and was the perfect sacrifice for our sin.
The question for my readers this day is, Have you embraced this Jesus as your Savior and Lord of your life? A life without Him is like mere existence, but to have real life that is meaningful and purposeful and eternal, He is the One to invite into one’s life to turn it around into a new one as per 2 Corinthians 5:17.
If you have this powerful Jesus in your life, you have everything for life and godliness through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. He is the Author of peace, joy, strength, real purpose and fulfillment. He is our Overcomer over the power of sin, death, demon and Satan and anything that may threaten our wellbeing.
